MORTIES Pic Saint Loup Red 2009 1*:
This benchmark domain was purchased by new owners in 2008 and remains active. Three vintages selected, the favourite being the 2009 grenache-syrah-mourvèdre The discreet nose gradually develops the flowers (hyacinth), Garrigue (bay), black fruits(plums) and black olive. The mouth finely balances fat and freshness. This wine must still mature and we will wait for two or three years. The Pic Saint Loup Jamais Content 2008 red (€15 to €20; 11,000 b.) has also been awarded a star for its aromatic intensity (liquorice, vanilla, grilled notes, candied fruits) and generosity. The smooth white 2009 (6390 b.), on wax, vanilla and the candied citron, is cited.
